The Vcodes system lets you batch ingest video content from tapes into your broadcasting environment for delivery and archiving via video workflows. Vcodes supports tapes from any professional tape deck with RS-422 remote control capability*.
Parallel tape capture from analog/digital sources
The Vcodes server detects available video ingest modules and distributes capture jobs between them. Each video ingest module can be pre-configured to handle certain tape types, so you can have different decks working in parallel.
Real-time encoding to hi-res and mezzanine formats
Capture and encode content on-the-fly to various formats, ranging from 10-bit uncompressed through XDCAM, IMX, AVC-Intra, MJPEG-2000 and more. Next, automated workflows prepare the rest of your required broadcast or VOD files, offline.
Non-destructive trimming and legalization
Optionally review ingested videos before they enter automated workflows. You can perform a quick video/audio spot-check, accurately trim unwanted tails, and approve or deny the file with optional comments that are logged into the Vcodes server.
When timecode is not available, Vcodes enables manually capturing tapes (“crash-record”).
